Desktop

Viewing of the TV service on a desktop computers is now available in many areas across campus. The TV service is a high bandwidth application and requires the latest network connections to be deployed. As the network is progressively upgraded, more areas will have the TV service deployed. Check with your local IT support staff to see if the TV service has been enabled on your network.

Viewing on a computer is easy using the application VLC (www.videolan.org),which is available for Mac/Win/Linux.

When you do the VLC installation, make sure to select the IE/Mozilla plug-in option. A web-based channel selection and viewing system that uses these plug-ins is in development.

Mac users will need to download the VLC browser plugin separately. ( http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html )

You just need to turn on SAP Announcements in the service discovery setting, and the playlist will automatically fill with the channel lists.

Mac OSX: File > Services Discovery > SAP Announcements

Windows XP: Playlist > Additional Sources> SAP Announcements

To permanently enable the SAP announcements, you need to check SAP in the preferences window.

If you get an ipv6 error, turn it off in the SAP preferences window.

Services streamed locally can be found in the ANUTV groups on the playlist.

  • ANUHD - Local High Definition television
  • ANUTV - Local Standard Definition television
  • ANUTV International - Satellite television
